They were very motivated with practising and helping each other learn their HFW. I need to help them transfer this enthusiasm across to letter sounds to support the new children and those who only have a few letters. Children are using classroom posters of digraphs and learnt vowel digraphs to support their decoding. Modelling books have started with differnent levels of success. I haven't been doing many follow-ups in their reading response workbooks, but instead have focussed on activity follow-ups or reading fluency with the book box. | Resources & IdeasMade many new games for HFW - 1st 100 words.
